Hi everybody! After years owning some of the games from WotC and looking into all the variants and custom material you posted here, I wanted to do my “reversion” of the rules so they can fit either for a standalone adventure or a big campaign.
I think I didn´t create something new (except maybe for the changes about the heroes and the level progression and abilities), I believe is more just a mash-up of all the variants you posted in forums and adapted to work together, so the credit is entirely yours.

The stuff is entirely in Spanish (I´m form Argentina), but I think Google Translate could easily do the job accurately. But just in case, I´ll leave you a short debrief:

- Heroes: The hero´s power cards are replaced with a single sheet with long and short range attack values (depending on the profession you choose) and other stats such as disarm traps/dextrity, open locks and resistances (poison, fire, cold, will). If you think the initial stats are unfair, please let me know.

- Attacks: Heroes that attack with melee weapons can use both actions to attack twice in the same turn. Heroes who use bows and such has to recharge.

- Level Progression: Heroes can level up to lvl 20, expending an increasing amount of XP points per level (I was thinking on adding an amount of gold and a “trainer” for the higher levels). After a new level is acquired, players have 1 point to expend in any feature on the hero sheet (except for damage, which requires 2 XP to increase). Achieving certain levels will allow the heroes to gain a new passive ability or spells (mage/paladin/cleric/bard).

The progression of the heroes will be compensated with more dangerous missions, foes and villains.

- Equipment: Each hero can have 3 items equipped at the same time only. At the beginning of its turn, the hero can change one equipped item with one in the backpack as a free action.

- Initiative: After a hero places a monster because of exploring, it has to roll for initiative. If the hero wins, he/she can finish the actions (if they are available), and the monsters did not activate in their first turn. Otherwise, the hero must end its turn immediately, just like normal rules.

- Exploration: Placing heroes in an unexplored edge don´t trigger automatic exploration. Heroes must move to the new tile expending speed points.

- Encounters: In a normal stage, players don´t have to draw an encounter if they didn´t explore, or if they placed a monster (the monster acts as the encounter). In other words, they only have to draw encounters if they explore a new tile and does not place a monster. In dangerous places, you can use the original rules and put a “timer”, so you don’t have encounters every turn.

-Battle encounters: If you end your hero turn in a tile with at least 1 monster, you have to draw an specific battle encounter (they aren’t all bad ones, I swear).

- Injury deck: When a hero is beaten, they stand up next turn with half their normal HP, but, as a penalty, they have to draw an Injury card, that affects their stats permanently until the end of the mission (or if they are lucky and have the correct potion). Each hero can carry up to 2 injuries before dying.

- Door/Chest deck: When a door/chest is opened, player must draw a card from this deck in order to determine if there is a trap. The card will show the effect of the trap if the hero fails, the roll necessary for deactivating it and the XP awarded if the hero succeeds.

- Road encounters: The campaign mode features a new deck of “road events” wich (of course) take place between the town and your final destination, and can trigger side quests.

Here is the link to the main post where I uploaded the rules and the hero sheets. I´ll be also uploading a short adventure called "Las Ruinas Gemelas" (which used to test some of the rules) and other stuff (over time). I Will be posting the stuff in the Castle Ravenloft Boardgame page.

Of course, i´m listening every suggestion you have about the rules or the stuff.

Enjoy!
