Have all the Dungeon command sets want to adventure outside? Read on!I start my outdoor adventures on hero tile 3, the castle looking one.
When you would explore an edge roll a d20, no if there is only 1 open edge ½ the result ( this will guarantee a large tile with 2 more open edges.. if there are multiple open edges, just keep the original roll, the reason for this is all the large tiles are the 1st 10, all the smaller tiles are 11-20 with a large tile place you won’t get cut off, if you roll a tile all ready used just take the next one down until an unused one is found )
Now treat large tiles as 4 smaller tiles so stop when you would cross a boundary to a new tile.
For black arrows mix up your numbered and blank treasure tokens 6 numbered 6 blank and place one on each tile face down, flip it when you would explore the edge as normal. as well as show if the tile has been explored.
Also draw and place 4 monster tokens in the middle, This will help separate the tile boundaries visually when moving.

As for when to draw the villain to keep its simple, make the 9th treasure token you reveal trigger the villain to appear. I’ve specific quest which will trigger based on the treasure tokens but more on that latter
I’m working on a customer encounter deck for artscow/ android flash card app outdoor themed and powers which make the monster tokens via a d20 compass, e.g North 1-5, East 6-10, South 11-15, West 16-20, which adds a bit of spice,
Also considering a customer treasure deck and 3 custom hero’s so that DC set can be like the a stand alone 4th D&DAS box set. I actually have 12 quests mapped out. Just need to play test some more. But the basics I’ve presented hear have flowed quite well so far.
So let me know if you interested in more?
Monster deck : I used this custom one from DC only monsters tried to keep it in sync with a normal D&DAS xps.

In this picture below, I actually jumped off a cliff! The burning cart ended in a flat edge, I wonder what would happen if I tried explore and a drew the pool card! So went with it!
so let me know how you get on,
i've a few tweeks in mind, such as don't stop at an edge instead to reveal the tokens on it instead you need to spend 3 movement, any monsters place on the furthest edge away but you can continue movement and attack.. i thought of this to try and counter the 2/3 monster beat down, giving you a chance to attack 1st if you have movement to get close or a ranged weapon that is.., other wise just treat all monster tokens as 1 monster maybe keep it simple again..
any way its been nice to experiment and get out of the dungeon so let me know if you try it..and if you want to see my campaign as it forms!
