pathfinder card game pushed me to finally progress this idea i've had for ages skill check in D&DAS my one sorely missed point as i like plot more then fighting in my rpgs and the skill check do this for me .. a little at least.. :-)

step 1 the heros needed specific skills

the skills posted are the basic 4th ed skill -minus streetwise which was not dungeon specific so dropped...

the stats are for fluff, not very relevant in the "keep it simple and fast" universe but also for true Dnd 4th ed you have + or minus
i've not add + or negative here for simplicity..

now D&D next play tests threw up a few possibilities for skills
1 is you have the named skill roll 2 d20 and keep the best.. i like this simple equivalent of +5 for the trained skill?

if the triggering character has the listed encounter skill roll 2 d20 keeps with the only using the d20 in this board game .

another aspect is if you have the named skill roll d20+1d6 which is cute. i like option 1 more... unless any one wants to add some insight

each character type has 6 skills again this differs from normal 4th ed dnd where the rogue would have most skills and the warrior less, i tried to make each skill appear at least twice, assuming adventuring parties of 3+ would have all skills needed for most skill challenges or the ones i planned at least..

i'm thinking either adventure specific deck or names tiles decks like ninjadog as already done..

i'll post more when ive made a few encounter or quests.. what do you think.. did i miss if any one has done this yet or is its step to far?
